As industry, we often forget to keep it simple for our consumers! Here is a list of the plastic numbers and their respective ‘industry names’ to help you keep up 😀
👉 #1 = PET/PETE (Polyethylene Terephthalate) and rPET (Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate)
👉 #2 = HDPE (High Density Polyethylene)
👉 #3 = PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)
👉 #4 = LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene also known as ‘Soft Plastic’)
👉 #5 = PP (Polypropylene)
👉 #6 = PS/EPS (Polystyrene and Expanded Polystyrene)
👉 #7 = Other
